Terms of Service & Disclaimer

Effective Date: October 2026

1. Directory Purpose & Informational Scope

historiccontractors.com is an independent reference publication designed to assist owners of pre-1940 structures in identifying specialized craftsmen in Greater Philadelphia. We are an informational directory, not a contractor, engineering firm, architectural consultant, or construction manager.

2. Independent Consumer Diligence Required

Listing inclusion does not constitute a warranty of workmanship, solvency, or pricing. Building owners must perform independent due diligence before hiring any service provider, including:

• Confirming current registration with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General (HICPA).
• Verifying active commercial general liability insurance and statutory workers compensation coverage.
• Securing necessary municipal building and historic preservation commission permits.
• Requesting and inspecting past project references on comparable historic properties.

3. Listing Accuracy & Public Sourcing

Directory entries are compiled from public records, business registrations, and verified contractor disclosures. While we make reasonable efforts to maintain accuracy, business operations, contact numbers, and personnel change over time. We disclaim liability for typographical errors or out-of-date information.

4. Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances shall the directory publishers be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from contractual agreements, construction disputes, property damage, or omissions arising from interactions with listed contractors.
